A Trek to Remember- Embracing a Journey of Discovering Nature!!

Image
Life is an amazing one. Just like the sun rising and setting every day our life goes on sometimes full of highs and sometimes full of lows. In between these highs and lows, homo sapiens tend to get out of the mundane routine- breathing in the calmness to heal the soul, while breathing out the daily responsibilities of ordinary life. Ramanagara trek was a desperate attempt to beat the humdrum and tedious office work and soak into the tranquility. All kudos to the VMware India Employee Engagement team for planning a trekking event to Ramanagara for the employees of VMware to peel away the layers of boredom and bond outside the workplace. There were around 800 colleagues who registered for the event within 2 days and around 130 were the lucky first batch to the wild freedom. And I was one of them! 1 st July, the day of the trek, I woke up bright and early and headed to the office. The excitement of the trek with office friends was giving me chills. We started at 7 and were handed ou

Pharmaceutical Industry and Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality is a synergic, visual method of presenting a real-life environment by adding sensory stimuli like sound, and visual elements giving a feeling as if the digital content is actually with us within our environment. Augmented Reality or AR is an entirely immersive process with a VR glass that covers the eyes entirely. It shuts out the external world, offering a real-world experience. Unlike Virtual Reality where the computer-generated data is seen by the user, Augmented Reality focuses on the real world by adding elements that can be seen for enhanced user experience. AR has become a trending topic of the 21 st century and has found umpteen applications in the Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Pharmaceutical industries. The best example of usage of Augmented Reality is the IKEA Mobile app, Nintendo’s Pokémon Go app, Google Pixel’s Star War Stickers, and Loreal Makeup App to name a few in Retail and Manufacturing. AR is also used to enhance the visualization of CT sc

Celebrating Independence day!

" Freedom is never dear at any price. It is the breath of life."-Quoted by Mahatma Gandhi. I remember a small incident from my childhood days. My mother prepared a short speech for me on Independence Day so that I can say in my Play School. When asked to say I got feared and did not say. I took my sweets packet and starter walking back home. My mother saw the whole incident and did not let me enter home. She asked me to go back to that empty place and give the speech. There were hardly 3-4 of my friends left. I gave the speech in front of them, was appreciated by my friends' parents and came back home. I was very angry with my mother that day and did not realize why she asked me to do that when hardly few were left. But now I know the reason behind that. My mother always wanted me to involve in all the events in school and college so that I learn from each one and shine bright one day. She always taught to be self reliant and self independent as that is the only road to t

Girl Child- A boon to the society?

Image
Amidst all chaos in life, today I felt to write on an occasion that I was a part of. It was a seven months "Baby Shower" ceremony of a couple who are a very good neighbor of mine. I was invited to their house party. It was a small function with their own family members of the would be father's parents, his sister, sister's kids and his wife (the would be mother). Since I am their neighbor, the only outsider they have invited in this COVID situation, naturally to make me feel a part of their family they were very busy with providing me food, sweets, clicking pictures, the kids were playing with me.  I also thought of clicking few pictures of them thus took out my DSLR and started clicking pictures. They started posing, changed dresses and again posed. I was delighted to see the old parents caring so much for their daughter in law, which is very difficult to see in Indian households. The would be father suddenly brought few hand made props and asked every one to pick on

Colorgram Pondicherry

Image
Pondicherry- a camaraderie of  white beaches, colorful doors and windows of gorgeous villas, the boulevards, is a fruit of the French rule in India. When I visited this place, I was mesmerized with the culture, food, tranquility that this town still holds from the French Colonial rule.  A short weekend getaway to this place is a savory from mental stress at work and daily chores of home. I took a cab from Chennai airport and it took around 3 hours to reach this chromatic town. You can avail bus services from Koyambedu bus stand of Chennai as well. I stayed very near to Promenade beach at White Town, one of the main attractions of the town. White Town Heritage Building Promenade Beach I had my brunch in Café des Arts in White town after visiting Promenade beach and started for the sightseeing tour. Café des Arts is a bohemian style cafe built in French Colonial style with vintage décor specializing in high palatable food. Cafe des Arts My first stop was at Auroville- a spiritual place

POMFRET is one of the yummilicious fishes in India. It is rich in Calcium, Vitamin B12 and Iodine. Thus good for our nervous system, healthy skin and hair growth. Well, Pomfret is also known as "Butterfish" as it contains some good fats like Omega 3 fatty acids that is vital for cardio vascular health. Having said so, today I will be giving a short and crisp super easy recipe of Tawa fry Pomfret, blended with spices giving a juicy light texture, sweet flavour and delectable taste.  For a serving of 2-4 persons: 1. COVID and its Impact on Young Middle Class Life of India

Image
"Pandemic shocker! India’s GDP shrinks by 23.9% in first quarter of FY2020-21" read the headlines of India Today late August 2020.  Reading the e-paper the father said "Girl be empowered enough because you can lose your job any time as the situation is not going to improve any time soon". The next day this enthusiastic girl full of zeal to work hard to be independent in her own life gets a call and yes it has happened, the job is no more. This girl is one of the countless middle-class people in India whose aspirations have been put to a halt due to the pandemic.  According to the  CMIE report , "Middle income households, particularly at the higher income levels, have suffered much more, because they had a lot more to lose". The Lockdown has taken a hit on jobs of the urban middle class in such massive way that the un-lockdown happening in phases throughout the country is of no help with economy declining further with a massive aggregate fiscal deficit.
