Flatlay- Sub Genre of Still Life
When all of us are stuck and confined in our homes in the current COVID situation;not knowing when the world will heal again we are hard hit with stress and anxiety. To destress and help recover the mental health, I feel we should start doing something productive may be some healthy hobbies can come to our resort.
I have been trying a lot of things that's been trending in the internet and among them I have been following #Flatlay for quite some time.
I am writing up my blog today to let you know that even if you are not a good photographer and don't have a DSLR, you can easily keep yourself engaged with Flatlay-one of the simplest photography I have come across.
What is a #Flatlay?
Photo of some objects of a typical theme you choose arranged on a flat surface captured from above- mainly a bird's eye view.
Nowadays 3D Photography has become a chic and is an Insta fav.
Tips for capturing a Flatlay:-
1) Choose a single coloured surface (if you are fond of pastel colours choose a light pastel surface or a white one will also do!) Multi colour will drift the pic from objects to surface.
2) Check out a Theme! If its a book, the book should be highlighted with some auxiliary props.
3) Choose a simple colour palette. It brings good gue and adds colour tinge to the picture.
4) Shoot the Flatlay, Edit with your favourite editing apps (My favorites are Fotor, Canva, Snapseed) and you are done![There are other editing apps too where you can make custom presets for aesthetic looks as well.]
Thats it! Hope you enjoy reading and give it a try shooting simple #Flatlays.
Hope you enjoy your weekend!!ππΈπ‘
